QR Code Size Guide

The right QR Code size depends on how far away people will scan it. Too small and it won't scan. Too large and it wastes space. Here's how to pick the perfect size.

The 10:1 rule

The scanning distance should be at least 10 times the width of the QR Code. For example, if people scan from 1 metre away, the code should be at least 10 cm wide.

Recommended sizes

Business cards: 2 cm × 2 cm minimum. Flyers and posters: 3–5 cm. Billboards: 30+ cm. Screens: at least 1 cm on mobile, 2.5 cm on desktop.

Resolution for print

Export at 300 DPI for print. SVG format scales to any size without losing quality. PNG is fine for screens and social media.

Quiet zone

Always leave a white border (quiet zone) around the QR Code. At least 4 modules wide. This helps scanners detect the code edges.
